Nuno Espirito Santo’s tenure at Tottenham ended after just four months after a heavy 3-0 defeat to Manchester United. With a 3.65 rating from fans on the day and only managing over a 7.00 on two occasions since taking over, Nuno had never felt like the right man for Spurs fans.
Goals from Ronaldo, Cavani and Rashford put Spurs to the sword in a game where both managers needed a result. It was a quiet match considering the score line, with perhaps 3-0 flattering Manchester United on the day. Ronaldo, Cavani and Fernandes shared man of the match in this one, with a 6.98 rating from fans each. Tottenham vented their frustration’s with Ben Davies, a shock inclusion over ever present Reguilon, and Harry Kane in what was an extremely poor performance from the Tottenham players. Both Davies and Kane scored dismal 3.98’s, with Emerson the only player for Tottenham to score over a 6 in the entire side.
Liverpool threw away a two goal lead at home to Brighton, Mwepu’s sweeping wonder goal from outside the box was enough to see him get man of the match in this one, scoring a 7.85 from the Brighton faithful. There were high scores for Dunk, Cucurella, Trossard and Lamptey off the bench, who all scored 7’s and above. It was an open and free-flowing match, with both sets of fans scoring this one a high 8.33 in match entertainment.
Chelsea benefitted most this weekend, with Liverpool and Manchester City dropping points, Chelsea easily dispatched Newcastle 3-0, courtesy of two wonderful strikes from Reece James, a thunderbolt on his left into the top corner gave Chelsea the lead, before later another superb strike on his right from the same position gave Chelsea a comfortable two goal cushion. Unsurprisingly, James scored highest from fans, an 8.65 on the day, with fans also particularly pleased with Ruben Loftus-Cheek off the bench. The midfielder scored an impressive 7.65 for his contribution.
