Fan First's Premier League review from weekend 16th-19th of Sept featuring - Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, West Ham United, Watford and Norwich City

Thomas Tuchel’s second half tactical masterclass saw Chelsea put Tottenham to the sword in a 3-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

After a first-half that was well fought from both sides, Tuchel’s tactical switch to bring on N’golo Kante to sure up his midfield saw Chelsea run riot against Spurs. An early goal from a corner in the second half from veteran Thiago Silva put Chelsea on their way to top of the table, Thiago Silva rolled back the years in this one as he showed how invaluable his experience is as he kept the Tottenham attack quiet all afternoon. It was that man Silva who impressed the Chelsea faithful the most as he scored an impressive 7.65 on the day, N’golo Kante was the other top performer as he scored a 7.32 after coming off the bench at halt-time. It was a disappointing day from Tottenham’s star man Harry Kane, the forward is yet to find the net so far this season and was virtually invisible in this one through-out, scoring a low 4.65 from Spurs fans.

The Olympic Park saw one of the games of the weekend as West Ham fell to defeat at the hands of Manchester United, Benrahma gave the Hammers the lead with a deflected effort in the 30th minute. That lead lasted just 5 minutes, as Portuguese duo Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo linked up once again to level things up for United. A frantic second half saw both teams try and secure a winner, last season’s Hammers loanee Jesse Lingard came back to haunt the Hammers as he fired in a sensational goal into the top right corner in the 88th minute. The drama wasn’t done just yet, as Luke Shaw was deemed to handball in the box with just a minute left to play, after help from VAR to confirm it, David Moyes made the brave call to bring on club legend Mark Noble to take the penalty. With his only touch of the game, Noble saw his penalty saved by De Gea, the goalkeeper won man of the match from United fans in this one, scoring a 7.79 after his last minute heroics. Ronaldo and Lingard both scored high with 7.39’s each after their goals secured 3 points for United.

After plenty of penalty shouts throughout the match, mostly coming from Cristiano Ronaldo, VAR seems to have impressed fans for once, VAR helped give the penalty to West Ham and deny United on 3 occasions, fans scored VAR an 8 on the afternoon, clearly feeling VAR was right in their decisions.

There was an early season battle between two newly promoted sides as Watford travelled to face Norwich. It was the Ismaila Sarr show all afternoon, the talented youngster was a threat out wide all afternoon, constantly running at defenders and getting into dangerous positions, the winger popped up with a brace and man of the match in this one, a deserve 7.98 from Watford fans showed how impressed they were with their talented youngster. Watford won the game 3-1 with the other goal coming from new signing Emmanuel Dennis, another young prospect brought in from Club Brugge this summer, the forward scored a 7.32 on the day, fans impressed with what was an excellent header to give Watford the lead.
